Today we shine our spotlight on a very special 8th grade student at Hamilton Middle School, whose generosity has been an inspiration to all of us at the DPS Foundation. This humble student who has asked to remain anonymous has been a DPS student since age 4 when she started Early Childhood Education at Southmoor Elementary. She felt so inspired by the educators who have helped shape her life that she wanted to do something a little extra to show her appreciation.

On Colorado Gives Day in December, this young philanthropist made a gift to the DPS Foundation, contributing part of the money she earned in her after-school job last year. She did so because she feels so grateful for the education she’s received and for the programs that have helped her flourish into a talented, contributing member of our community. She thoughtfully selected the DPS Foundation because she wanted the money to directly impact other DPS students. “My daughter was motivated to give back to DPS because she is so thankful for the teachers she’s had and wanted to make sure other kids have the same opportunities as her”, says the mother of this student.

This thoughtful and generous young donor went above and beyond to support her peers and we are all so grateful to have such incredible role models in our midst! We hope you will all join us in standing proud that students like this are our future leaders!
