Denver Public Schools Foundation was established in 1992 to serve as the fundraising arm for the Denver Public Schools. The Foundation maintained a relatively passive role over the next ten years until it was revitalized in 2002 under the instrumental leadership of former DPS Superintendent Jerry Wartgow. The Foundation continued to grow under DPS Superintendent Michael Bennet.
Today, the DPS Foundation plays a key role in securing private funds that enable the district to successfully implement initiatives that help drive student achievement. The DPS Foundation will continue to work with current DPS Superintendent Tom Boasberg to accelerate reform efforts in our schools.
The DPS Foundation board of directors is widely regarded as one of the most effective and influential in the region consisting of some of Denver’s key business and community leaders. All are deeply committed to driving community investment in the educational priorities of the district and raising student achievement.
