School Resources

Lights on After School

Lights On After School in Denver is a partnership among the Denver Public Schools Foundation, Mile High United Way and the City and County of Denver. The partnership was formed to sustain school-based, after-school programs for DPS elementary and middle school students.

LOAS Grants

The mission and purpose of the Lights On After School partnership is to provide high-quality OST programming for as many Denver students as possible through school-based programs. To strengthen the partnership for the future, we are implementing a strategic planning process over the next year. The process will ensure that the greatest impact is achieved with the available resources.

The 2012-13 Lights On After School application for funding will be limited to schools that were funded for 2011-12. This streamlined process will to allow the partners to focus on a long-term strategy to ensure more children and youth have access to services they need.

All eligible schools have been notified directly. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Catherine Wise at catherine_wise@dpsk12.org or 720-424-8256.

PROVIDER DIRECTORY

Partnerships can enormously enhance an after school program and are encouraged by the LOAS funding initiative. The 2011-12 Provider Directory includes 46 local providers who are available to partner with DPS schools in the coming year. This information is made available to Lights On After School grant seekers, in the hopes of creating new connections between schools and community partners to enhance after-school offerings for our students.
