Thank you to all who attended and supported the annual Sing It To Me Santa, Colorado Rocks for Teachers concert, benefiting the Denver Public Schools Foundation on Saturday, December 12 at the Ogden Theatre. The event was a huge IMG_8327success, with between 800 to 900 DPS supporters in attendance. Everyone in attendance, from DPS educators to Denver community leaders, was able to enjoy a night of singing, dancing and giving back. Thanks to our sponsors, attendees and hosts, the event raised more than $150,000 in support of Denver’s 90,000 students and 200 schools!

With an array of hosts, including Libby Anschutz, Michelle and Mike Fries, Governor John Hickenlooper, Walter and Christie Isenberg, Senator Mike Johnston, Zack Neumeyer, Bret Saunders and Chuck Morris, the show proved to be an absolute blast for all. The concert included a mix of talented performers, including surprise guests Isaac Slade of The Fray and wife Anna Slade, Todd Park Mohr of Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Billy NershSITMS_bandsi of The String Cheese Incident featuring special guest performer Governor John Hickenlooper, Tracksuit Wedding, Ryan Chrys and the Roughcuts, the Moderators, The Frails, DSA’s winning band, Last Minute and runners up North High School Honors Choir.

Last Minute was introduced onto the stage by Isaac and Anna Slade. This was definitely a highlight of the night for the students, who later got to meet with the lead singer of The Fray and his wife. Not only did Last Minute and contest runner ups North High School Honors Choir get to rock it out on stage playing a song of their choice, they also got to collaborate and perform onstage with a couple of the bands — Tracksuit FullSizeRenderWedding and the Moderators. It was quite an exciting opportunity for the young student musicians, and an excellent performance to watch for those in the audience.

The crowd sang and danced the night away, while also getting the chance to participate in the silent online auction, which had many exciting packages such as a trip to the Grammys in Los Angeles, and a Vail ski trip weekend. A special thanks to all who contributed to the night and participated.

Mark your calendars for next year’s Sing It To Me Santa, Colorado Rocks for Teachers concert! Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at the Ogden Theatre.
