Bruce Randolph’s middle school students, who participate in El Sistema Colorado’s afterschool program directed by Emily Crile and Janet Wright of the Colorado Children’s Chorale, is an excellent display of talent, joy and enthusiasm. The group kicked off the evening splendidly by singing the National Anthem.

The Teller Elementary Advanced Band, directed by Jennifer Bartos, performed the song “Happy,” arranged by Michael Sweeney and recorded by Pharrell from the movie Despicable Me 2. The advanced band consists of 36 students ranging from third to fifth grade. The students did a great job and the song was a hit!

El Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant Webster from Bryant Webster Dual Language ECE – 8 School, directed by Pamela Linan and Jackie Linan, is proud to perform as a group for the 14th year. The students range from fifth to eighth grade and beautifully played a traditional Mariachi song, El Son de La Negra, originating from Jalisco, Mexico. The music was lively, and the students did a fantastic job!

Dea, a fourth-grade student at Smith Renaissance School, stands out among her peers due to her passion for learning. Dea was excited to meet with Acting Superintendent Susana Cordova to ask her questions regarding important issues in Denver Public Schools. Dea did a great job and even read music lyrics she had written to the crowd!
