Achieve Gala 2016

Highlights from our 2016 Gala

April 21, 2016

Lisa Rhodes was an inspiration as our Achieve Gala 2016 student keynote speaker. Lisa, a senior at Martin Luther King, Jr. Early College, shared her story of overcoming many obstacles on her road to success. This was Lisa’s first time speaking in front of an audience of close to 1,000 people. More than 800 viewers also watched her speech live on Facebook. For the second year in a row, Denver School of the Arts high school students emceed the Achieve Gala, and they were a hit…as were the many talented students who performed from Bruce Randolph, Bryant Webster, and Teller Elementary. Fourth-grade student Dea from Smith Renaissance School charmed the audience as she sat down with Acting Superintendent Susana Cordova for our second annual Superintendent Fireside Chat.
