A unique, one-stop hub that recognizes the need to help students, families and entire communities.
The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Centers are the one-stop hub that connects students, families and our community with free services to increase their economic self-sufficiency and academic success. All services are free and open to all community members 16 and older– not just DPS parents.
These centers empower parents to be role models for their children as lifelong learners.
The Denver Public Schools Foundation is proud to have helped support the opening of the newest FACE Center, serving members of the Montbello community with wraparound services including free English-language and GED classes, as well as help with tax preparation, financial coaching, legal assistance, utility assistance, veteran services, free childcare for participants and more. The FACE Centers also have a training-to-employment pipeline, designed to increase diversity across DPS and better reflect the demographic makeup of the city by providing skills training and resume building classes.
The FACE Center in Montbello is the second center to open within the district, following the success of the first location in Southwest Denver, which has enrolled more than 1,200 participants since it opened in 2014. The innovative model helps DPS work toward many of the goals in its strategic plan, the Denver Plan 2020.
