The Denver Public Schools Foundation is proud to partner with bpx energy, a company deeply committed to strengthening and investing in the community. Through volunteerism and a shared belief in the power of education, bpx energy continues to make a lasting difference for students, educators, and families across Denver Public Schools.
Last month more than 25 bpx volunteers dedicated their time and talent to creating welcoming, functional spaces for DPS students and teachers. Inside the building, volunteers rearranged furniture to create a dedicated music room, updated bulletin boards, organized math center kits for teachers, sorted books, and created literacy sets for students. Outside, they cleared weeds, mulched the playground, and swept front concrete areas, transforming both indoor and outdoor spaces into places where students can learn and thrive.
Eagleton Elementary Interim Principal Heidi Saunders shared, “The labor and mental work I was able to give bpx became a vision that they brought to life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I shared what I hoped for and they came in with the willpower to make it a reality. These projects were taken off my plate and completed even better than it could have ever been done.”
Reflecting on the experience, Jennifer Eckels, Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist at bpx energy, said the project truly captured the spirit of teamwork and community that defines their employees. “Our employees are always eager to give of their time to support the communities where we live and work,” Eckels shared. “It was fantastic to see a group of highly motivated individuals come together to support the teachers and administrative staff at Eagleton Elementary as a part of our 2025 X-Week service day. bpx employees not only bring a can-do attitude but also demonstrate how the power of teamwork can make a meaningful impact. As the project wrapped up, it was heartwarming to hear volunteers already asking when they could return.”
Beyond their recent Service Day, bpx has demonstrated a strong and ongoing commitment to Eagleton Elementary and the DPS Foundation through both financial support and volunteer engagement. Their generosity supports afterschool programming through Discovery Link and provides transportation funding for schools participating in field trips with the Greenway Foundation.
bpx employees have also continued their hands-on involvement, helping run Eagleton’s Field Day last May and assembling more than 1,000 Justice Necessary feminine hygiene kits. These kits were distributed through the district’s Community Hubs, ensuring essential resources reach families who need them most.
Sam Knaizer, Chief of Staff and Head of Corporate Affairs at bpx energy, described the partnership as a reflection of the company’s values and long-term commitment to community impact. “At bpx energy, we believe in showing up for the communities where we live and work—and our partnership with the DPS Foundation is a powerful expression of that commitment,” Knaizer said. “Our employees are quick to step up and give their time to support schools like Eagleton Elementary, where educators and staff work tirelessly to shape the future. The fact that volunteers were already asking about the next opportunity before the last project even wrapped up speaks volumes about the heart behind this effort.”
Through their generosity, time, and dedication, bpx energy continues to make a lasting difference for Eagleton students and the broader DPS community. Their partnership with the DPS Foundation reflects what’s possible when we come together to create opportunities, support equity, and invest in the next generation of Denver’s leaders.
