A recap of Achieve Gala 2023: The theme for Achieve Gala 2023 was A World of Possibilities. This year’s gala was on World Heritage Day! Thank you for joining us in celebrating the rich diversity and cultures of Denver Public Schools students! We also honored DPS Foundation Board Chair Jeanne Saunders at this year’s event for her longtime dedication to DPS students!

Achieve Gala 2023 was a night in which we put our students center stage and celebrated A World of Possibilities. The evening began with Denver North High School’s mariachi band providing music during our cocktail reception, followed by the DMLK Early College drumline triumphantly leading our guests into the ballroom. Guests then enjoyed the evening’s menu which was inspired by family receipes from East High School student, Eddie Jackson. The evening was led by student emcee Grace, a senior at South High School and keynote speaker Adrian, a senior at Respect Academy.

Achieve Gala 2023 was a night filled with music and joy, with student entertainment performances from Valdez Elementary with a special black light theater production followed by a powerful poem performance by East High School juniors, Elias and Elijah. We wrapped up the evening by singing along with the Bear Valley International school choir to the song Wavin’ Flag by Somali-Canadian artist, K’naan.

Thank you again for joining the fun and inspiration at our Achieve Gala last night. Together we raised more than $910,000 in support of DPS students and schools.
