A Quarterly Report on Impact: Spring 2026

Dear Community,

I’ve worked with DPS for 7 years and my work supports the DPS technology internship and apprentice programs. Having the DPS Foundation support our program year after year has been a much welcomed boon for the program’s continued expansion and development. With the grant funds, the MyTech internship/apprenticeship program has been promoting and living the value of equity via take-home packages to every scholar who completes one term with us regardless of where they start. The take-home packages include a toolkit for repairs, two uniforms so the scholars feel more integrated and part of the team, headphones, and most importantly the experience and confidence to continue on whatever path the scholar may desire.

Without the support of the DPS Foundation the MyTech internship/apprenticeship program would still be successful, but the funds received from the Foundation allows us to thrive and ultimately step the program up to that next level for our scholars. The DPS Foundation support provided gives us the opportunity not only to provide the scholars with the resources they need to be treated as fellow employees, but to invest in their future by providing resume workshops, job interview prep, work and job culture experience, confidence building, and the physical tools to keep with them should they choose to proceed in the tech industry and beyond.

Thank you to all who make this possible!

Community Spotlight: Karen’s Story

When Karen and her family arrived in Denver last year, they connected with the Central Community Hub for support. Through the Hub, Karen enrolled in English classes, accessed food assistance, and began working with a workforce coordinator to explore employment opportunities. Over time, that support has helped
Karen’s family build stability. When she first began attending classes, she brought her one-year-old son
with her. Today, he is enrolled in preschool. Her children also now have access to healthy meals at school, and  Karen continues working toward financial stability.

Her story reflects how Community Hubs connect families to the resources they need today while creating pathways to opportunity for the future.

Educators Take Flight

Thanks to the generous support of DPS Foundation’s official airline, United Airlines, the Educators Take Flight program provides Denver Public Schools educators with the opportunity to travel for professional learning experiences that expand their perspectives and improve outcomes for students.

DPS Foundation in the Community

In partnership with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and Southwest Airlines, DPS Foundation celebrated student-led projects at Monarch Montessori and Marie L. Greenwood Elementary School, awarding grant funding to help bring their ideas to life (bottom center image).
