Eric Piepenbrink, Director of Student Services at Ashford University, delivering 100 backpacks for DPS’s homeless student population.

Employees from Denver’s Ashford University, The University of the Rockies and Bridgepoint Education donated more than 100 brand new backpacks to DPS students in need. The backpacks were filled with basic school supplies including pencils, pens, crayons, notebook paper, glue, scissors and more.  This is Ashford’s second year as a valued school supply donor.

The donation was part of  the Minority Enterprise & Educational Development, Inc.’s  (MEED) school supplies drive for homeless students.   On any given day, DPS has approximately 1,800 homeless students enrolled and MEED’s annual drive helps ensure these students return to school equipped for success.   Many thanks to the generous employees at Ashford, University of Rockies and Bridgepoint Education for supporting this vital effort!
