The Denver Public Schools Foundation announced the winner of the I Give for Team DPS early bird participant contest last Friday, November 13. The lucky winner of the 4 Denver Broncos tickets along with a parking pass for the day of the game, provided by FirstBank, was Felicia Michael from the DPS Communications Department. As an avid DPS supporter and Broncos fan, Felicia was thrilled to be given the opportunity to attend the Broncos game against the Kansas City Chiefs –and having excellent seats on the 50-yard line definitely didn’t hurt!
Felicia is one of many DPS staff members who choo
se to participate in payroll deduction where she automatically gives back to schools and students each month. Felicia says, “The choice to give back to DPS schools was a no-brainer, one in fact that I made since the very moment I joined Team DPS as a new employee. I recall when I was filling out my new hire paperwork that this was the easiest box to check. “It’s like donating one Starbucks coffee a month,” was my rationale, and although it may not seem like much, it is the best, most convenient commitment that I choose to make each month in support of our schools and kids.”
As of Nov. 19, we have nearly 300 I Give for Team DPS participants – an increase in the number of participants at this time in the campaign last year! Although there were many donors like Felicia who already choose to participate in I Give for Team DPS, the Broncos tickets added an extra incentive to generate excitement in participating this year.
